The heart of U3A is our members, many of whom generously volunteer their time and experience towards building a strong, vibrant association. In doing this they increase the opportunity of meeting new people, sharing their knowledge and learning new skills.
We have many positions and roles within the Association. One of our most important activities is the courses we conduct during two semesters each year. We are always looking for people to present these courses and we encourage anyone who has lecturing, teaching or specialised subject knowledge to contact us to discuss the possibility of conducting a U3A course.
If you enjoy public speaking and have interesting topics and stories to relate we would also love to hear from you. Our Regions regularly feature speakers at their events and would be delighted to put you on their program.
We also look for those who are willing to volunteer time at their local Region, either by accepting a committee position, co-ordinating programs or conducting activities such as special interest groups exploring a wide range of subjects including movies, walking, craft, computers and many others.
The U3A office in Claremont is staffed by volunteers and we always have a need for people with general office and computing skills.
All U3A publicity and promotions are produced and managed by U3A volunteers. Members with graphic design and marketing ideas are invited to explore opportunities to participate.
On occasion we require advice of a general nature on accounting and legal matters. This may be your field of expertise.
These are just a few examples of the many opportunities to volunteer with U3A. If you wish to become involved please register your interest with the General Secretary, on 0468 781 857.
